I am a big believer in the idea that form should celebrate function. In our kitchen, the cooking and dining tools frame the aesthetic of this workhorse room -- from my beloved Le Creuset ovens and ruffled pie dish to "special everyday" coffee cups (below, from the Fine Arts Museum in Sevilla) to table settings inspired by memorable meals we've had while traveling.
It doesn't have to cost a fortune either. I've built up quite a tableware collection from estate sales and thrift shops. I love creating a table composition. Read about it here.
